Friends of humanity calls on Egypt to facilitate Road to Hope convoy's mission

VIENNA, (PIC)-- Friends of humanity international organization appealed to the Egyptian authorities to allow Road to Hope convoy to move from the Egyptian-Libyan borders into the Gaza Strip to deliver medical and human assistance to the impoverished Palestinian people there.

The organization said that about 100 international peace activists and members of charities sponsoring this humanity campaign have done much to help the needy Palestinians, so the Egyptian authorities should support them to achieve their humanitarian mission, and not hinder it.

The Vienna-based human rights group issued a statement expressing its disapproval of the Egyptian government's confused position, which tries to find excuses and justifications for its inhuman positions, and puts hard conditions for the convoy.

The organization expressed its condemnation of the participation of the Egyptian government in Gaza siege, and called on it to end this role and support such noble humanitarian efforts.

The convoy, Road to Hope, is organized by an independent coalition of experienced international convoy members, peace and non-violence activists and members of NGOs, and composed of 30 trucks and ambulances loaded with medical and school supplies for the children and the population of Gaza.
