Saudi Evacuates Border Town as Yemen Truce Barely Holds

Yemen’s humanitarian ceasefire came under significant strain in its second day on Thursday as it was disrupted by Saudi violations across the Arab impoverished country.

Al-Manar correspondent in Yemen said that the most significant Saudi violations were reported in Saada, where the Saudi forces shelled several areas across the northern province, including al-Baqe’a, al-Tebbah al-Hamra, al-Qorm and al-Hasamah.

Saudi strike in Aden
The US-backed Saudi warplanes also struck al-Muzarrag area and al-Khodour town in Hajjah province, our correspondent added.

Elsewhere in Aden, Saudi warships targeted Ras Omran with missile.

Air strikes were also reported in several areas in the provinces of Abyan, Lahj and the capital Sanaa.

Meanwhile, Saudi media reported that Riyadh evacuated a border town after being shelled by Yemeni Tribal fighters earlier before the ceasefire went into effect late on Tuesday.

Saudi newspaper al-Watan quoted well-informed sources as saying that the Saudi civil defense teams evacuated the town of Dhahran al-Janoub.

Yemen has been since March 26 under brutal aggression by Saudi-US coalition. Thousands have been martyred and injured in the attack, with the vast majority of them are civilians.
Riyadh launched the attack on Yemen in a bid to restore power to Yemen’s fugitive president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi who is a close ally to Saudi Arabia.

On April 21, Saudi Arabia declared the end of the aggression, dubbed “Decisive Strom,” and the start of another campaign called “Restoring Hope.” The Saudi-led warplanes are still conducting airstrikes on several areas across Yemen.
